Lead Person – Travel and General Trades

Lead Person Responsibilities
- Oversee the project or phase of project in the absence of the Foreman.
- Participates in and monitors “safety toolbox meetings.”
- Communicates with the Forman regarding all aspects of the job.
- Assigns daily crew tasks in absence of the Forman.
- Recognizes, addresses, and resolves issues as they arise on the job site.
- Reviews and tracks weekly job cost and production along with General Superintendent in the absence of Forman.
- Communicate and coordinate with other trades to avoid and resolve job site conflicts in the absence of Forman.
- Schedule subcontractors and suppliers.
- Schedule equipment, tools, rental equipment, and materials in the absence of Forman.
- Complete daily time reports.
- Maintain positive communication with General Superintendent, Owners, Subcontractors, and Suppliers.
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President and/or the President.
Mentoring
- Assesses each crew member skills to be able to coach and teach as needed.
- Ensures crew compliance with projects and policies and procedures.
- Assist in implementation of safety programs and goals.
Physical Requirements:
- Performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Coordinate eye-hand movements with control and precision.
- Use hands and fingers fully; reach for, manipulate, and feel objects; stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
- Climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction).
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stoop, lay, bend or squat for long periods of time.
Working Conditions:
- May be exposed to fumes, dust, or other airborne particles.
- May be exposed to loud noises.
- Position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and vibrating machinery.
- May be exposed to extreme outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity or cold and wet conditions.
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicals or waste.
Other:
- Travel will be required.
- Must be willing to travel and work from project sites.
- Comfortable working at a customer’s jobsite as required.
- Comfortable working off hours or OT if needed to complete a project.
- Shiftwork may be required.
- Weekend work may be required.
- Basic first aid training
- 10-Hour OSHA Certification
- MSHA Part 46 Certification
- Industrial machine licenses (such as a forklift license) preferred
- Valid driver’s license (Class C and DOT Medical Card)
**Travel may include being gone for extended periods of time depending on the project location and time to complete the job. Extended regional area travel may be up to three weeks gone before coming home. Other jobs, travel may be defined as leaving on Sunday evening or Monday morning and coming home Friday. Traveling for jobs outside of the regional area may mean you will be gone for longer than three weeks. While Yoe does try its best to rotate and use a Travel on/Travel off schedule of working out of town for a while and then working local jobs for a break, we cannot always guarantee we have local work available.

Experience/Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- Four (4) years’ experience in a leadership position
- Communication Proficiency
- Mathematical/Computer skills
- Basic tools required (details available at interview)
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening including a drug test and background check, where applicable.
