Comprehensive Services for an Office Fit-Out
The Yoe team was hired for this office fit-out project to build a café lounge area as a showcase space within an existing facility in South Central Pennsylvania.
Challenge
In 2014, Yoe was hired to construct a café lounge area within an existing facility in South Central Pennsylvania. Due to the nature of the project, several different subcontractors were hired. Some subcontractors worked for Yoe while others worked for the design firm. Managing quality and keeping open lines of communication was of utmost priority on this project. This office fit-out project was designed to serve as the showcase area of the building for those interested in leasing the facility. A well-constructed, visually appealing space was the goal. Yoe’s team of experienced professionals worked with the client during each stage of the process in order to meet the tight deadline while being as efficient as possible within a limited budget.
Services & Solutions
To maintain the integrity of the existing quarry tile floor, Yoe laid a temporary plywood floor beneath the work area to ensure no imperfections resulted from their work and equipment. Key aspects of the project included:
- Demolition
The existing area required knocking down walls and demolishing an exterior foundation in order to start from scratch on the facility. All materials and debris had to be removed and brought through the manufacturing space. - Concrete
Concrete slabs were poured on deck to lay the foundation for the project. Floors were prepped to accept new flooring. - Carpentry
This included metal stud framework, constructing a drop ceiling, drywall installation and adding doors within the café lounge area. Risers were also enclosed on the existing stairways.
After reviewing the architectural building plans with the design firm, Yoe carefully selected and collaborated with trusted subcontractors on:
- Painting
- Flooring (for new plumbing)
- Railing
- Roofing
- Kitchenette countertops
- Windows
- Mezzanine
- Steps and the storefront of the café lounge area
Results
The design firm and client were very happy with the finished café lounge area as well as the employees who will now be able to enjoy the nicely constructed area during their break period. As a result of the success of this project, Yoe looks forward to future work with the design firm.
